Bah Humbug! The staggering affect of the economy has never been so evident to me, as it has been this weekend. The stores are considerably empty of happy shoppers. Driving through neighborhoods near my home, there are VERY few houses decorated with Christmas lights. Restaurants are virtual ghost towns. Even the "Glory of Christmas" at the Crystal Cathedral has vacant seating! What a different Christmas this is going to be for many people, our neighbors, our friends, and our family.
We must remember the true meaning of Christmas, and look past the obvious signs of a gloomy Christmas. We must celebrate the birth of Jesus, the power of love, and the blessings of family!

I agree - if anything, this economy is reminding us to remember what the season is all about. This is even more evident, given the holiday gesture you've asked us to complete by Christmas Eve.
